Panama 2 Week Solo Surf Trip

Hi There,
I am a beginner surfer with some surf knowledge (surfed about 20times) and am looking to spend two Weeks in Panama on a solo surf trip from Middle of March to start of April. I have a friend out in Cambutal who i want to visits for about half the leg of the trip and was wondering where the best beginner friendly places to surf are.
Basically id like to spend one week surfing intensively with a coach to improve as much as possible and then spend one week with my mate.

Does anyone know a good surf camp in Panama or alternatively in Costa Rica.
For lodging in Panama i was considering Camping/camper van, I heard Panama is relatively safe, does anyone have any experience or tips for camping out in Panama?

From the research I have done so far it seems:
Bocas del Toro and Santa Catalina areas are for experts only.
West Panama, areas around San carlos and Playa Coronado are relatively inconsistent during the March/April.
I heard Playa Venao has a solid setup but is quite remote so no chances for surf lessons?

How much do you want to spend - Costa Rica has some very nice looking surf camps, but some are pretty upmarket and some aren't so much.
