Finally signed up after lurking for months!

First off gotta say a big thank you to this site and every poster on here. Been reading all your words of wisdom and although a beginner I'm learning a lot from the likes of Uncle Jaffa, waikikichan and all the rest (sorry can't name everyone or we'll be here all night)

A bit about me. Started surfing once a year on the annual run to the sun in Newquay, was a blast but now this last year have turned into a bit of a monthly/wkend warrior here in the south of Ireland.

Weight 12/13 stone, age 15(mental) 33(physical) height 6'2, riding a big old tanker of a Bic 8'4 and stoked to bits!!

Ha, thanks.. Yeah the age? well I've decided not to grow up, its the whole general Akbar thing "it's a trap!" typified by the time recently when I was surfing lahinch and it was much bigger than anything I'd ever been in, (about 4 foot Hawaiian I was told) took off on what felt like a roaring water mountain to me and was so excited was whopping like a mad man as I sped along in the sheer thrill of it..don't think I'll ever get to the age where I want to have to surpress that feeling on a wave!!

KS - if ever I'm being chased by a wave at Maverick's you'll be able to do the whole panto thing and shout "He's behind you!"

Really enjoying this site btw, it's like my surfing bible.

I think the Maverick thing was a Top Gun reference which was my thought initially that you were a fan of that movie. Lot's of old folk here who refuse to grow up (I am 61)

Ha good stuff OMS. You got a love a bitta Top Gun though haven't you!! I'm often to be found lying near lifeless in the water like goose after a bad wipeout name's what I sometimes get called because it sounds a bit like my first one.
