My waist is too small for any men's board short..

Postby fatalis » Sun Jul 26, 2015 11:43 pm

Guys, do you have any ideas that involves not shopping in the little boys department for board shorts?

My current pair is 28 inch phantoms sport weld and I absolutely LOVE THEM, the only problem is they are pretty lose, as I have lost some weight over the past year.

Pretty sure all board shorts come in a minimum of 28 inches, and I don't even know about the boys department.

Guys got any tricks?

I am pretty short at a mere 5"5, so that is why my waist is so small.

Pizza Hut? McDonalds?

Don't know what kind of magic you are looking for; I would go to the big boys section of the surf shop or buy size 28s and get them tailored.

Buy shorts that have the string going all the way around, instead of just a few inches at the front. Then you can tighten to whatever you want.

If you absolutely must have 'front string' shorts, then learn to sew. Its not that hard to take in a few inches around the waist, or so my mum tells me (I have absolutely no idea how to do it but she says its not very hard to learn esp if you don't mind if it looks a bit strange)

I like Quiksilver's diamond dobby board shorts and I am a 28 waist also. But they are so stretchy that some times they fall down. So I recommend looking at the website and go to Kids or Boys. They have the same construction, but a bit shorter above the knee. Sizes 27, 26, 25 and down. The Hurley website for America list Boy sizes as having 27 waist.

You could take the boardshorts you have and sew a pleat along the waist to shorten it something like this https://youtu.be/31WZby8JXr4
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.
