Watches over or under a wettie

Postby myate » Mon Jan 21, 2008 8:55 am

Does anyone here wear a watch while surfing...I know theres a thread here already on kinds of watches, but I was wondering if you wear it over or under your wettie...for those who wear wetties! I presume over. I wouldn't normally care about time while surfing, but I nearly missed an appointment the other day as it was good out there! Cheers

Over for me, just make sure you get one with a long enough strap.

Over. I need to wear it when I surf at lunchtime as I can only take 2 hours. I've got a rubber thing that my mother bought me from a surf shop in Australia.....my god, she does listen!!

Just to be different under, if you wear it on the outside dont put the face inwards, if you slip when popping up metal watchs can ding the rail.

I kept scraping wax off my board and onto my watch... so I wear mine under my wetsuit. :D

Not sure how that happened.. but I just kept finding wax on my watch. :?

Maybe you can start your own bussiness waxing watches. You and Faf can combine to become an unstoppable force in the industry.

I wear mine under my wetsuit cos its a metal clip thingy which means its not adjustable and wont allow it to fit over it - i do end up with painful indents in my wrist from the watch so I would wear it over if I had the choice.

I never had the patience to where a watch in the water. Partly because I surf to get away from having to watch the time.

in the summer i wear it over but with gloves and a suit on i find it hard to get it over...which is a pain because its really difficult to look at the time with gloves on

I wear mine over my wetsuit as i have one of those velcro straps on mine.

The Animal surf brand was started by a couple of blokes producing these in their bedrooms for local surfers down south, nice little story of how a brand is formed.
