Checking before you post...

Postby Sar » Mon Sep 18, 2006 10:06 pm

Hi,

Still new to the forum and have done a couple of posts - The question everyone asks (think mine was about paddling) and the post where the subject title has nothing to doing with the actual content (Boscombe surf?)- sorry guys.

I completely ignored the 'please read before you post'' post and dont recall seeing the 'introduce yourself post' until a bit later.

At the time of signing up it might be a good idea to do a sort of disclaimer ( I realise you dont want to put people off but just a friendly nudge cant hurt) bit that you have to read first about ensuring that you read the posts before asking questions that have been asked 1000's of times before ( I realise now that it must be very frustrating for the regulars) as well as posting stuff where the header is unrelated to the content of the post.

Just an idea. Too be honest, you may have already done it but I so wanted to post something and just did that thing where you agree to the terms and conditions without actually reading them

Hi Sar,

I like the idea and think I will put something in the signup email that is sent out upon registering. Point people at the forum rules & tell them to do a topic search.
