i know.. but im so used to forums having that big image header leading you back to it.. just thought it might make sense too since it does say "forums" on it haha.

It's supposed to encourage people to have a look at the rest of the site. As Papa says there is already a link to the forum index page which is present on every page.

I just thought it seemed a tad misleading saying surfing waves forum then directing me back to the front page.. I know how to get around.. but most the surfers I know aren't forum savvy. But ya know.. I'm sure many of the guys on here weren't either at first
