Custom Bill Hamilton Longboard Price Estimate

Postby conman1993 » Thu Jul 23, 2015 8:25 pm

Hello all,

As I am new to surfing, I wanted to get a price estimate on a longboard I recently bought off of Craigslist. It's a custom made Bill Hamilton, 8' 1'' from 2003 in excellent condition. I paid $250 for it, but before I started surfing with it, I just wanted to check it wasn't a lot more valuable than $250.

Thanks

You should say your weight and age and where you intend to surf it and exactly how new to surfing you are. Overall looks like a nice board which can surf waves far beyond your capability but it's probably ok for you too.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

Oh yeah and I don't think it is worth more than that.

12 year old board ? 5 years and the stringer tends to lose it's snap/pop. But finding a nice board that's water tight and from a good shaper is worth $200 ish. The biggest concern is the fin system. I think that is one of the systems that didn't make it out of the fin system wars, that ultimately was won by FCS and Futures. You going to have the same problem trying to find compatible fins if you break off one. Changing one plug is going to cost $40-50+ ( without the fin ).
