JS Evolution

Postby peazz » Fri Nov 15, 2013 11:45 am

Hey Guys,

While many might think investing in a 5"9 shortboard after only 6 months is crazy, Im totally in love with my new Board right now.

The JS Evolution is the board up from the Revolution but with a round pin tail, You can ride it as a thruster, quad or 5 fins.

compared to my 7s superfish, It actually paddles better once i get going and does not feel like a log in the water.

You know when you ride something new, weather a skateboard, surfboard or even a new car and u get that huge grin across your face, thats what happened when i caught my first wave, It feels sexy on the feel, really lose and fits in the pocket like * in a * ;)

Anyone thinking of buying this board I highly recommend it, While ive only ridden a handful of various boards this is by far the smoothest board yet. I will defiantly treasure this board for years to come (if it last that long). Now all that i have to do, is paddle like a little * every day and by the end of this 3 weeks in NSW, Ill grab myself a 10ft face or two.

My buddy loves his 6'1 JS. Last year he snapped one, went out and bought the same thing again

Got out past the beach break hell that is bondi today IB.

Caught my first perfect wave and I must say, this board is something special! shame that a newbie * stain dropped in on me, blocked my path and nearly ended up with the nose of my board in the side of his head. Lucky I have fast reactions and threw the board out the othe rway from beneath me.

Bondi was a nightmare today, Overcrowded and to many "ill rent a surfboard and give it a try" types out. First time i come away from a surf angry and wanting to dig a couple of people in the face!

Yeah, we need a "surfing sucks" campaign to thin the crowds...

Maybe if we got a shark fin and some flippers and swam around local breaks for a few weeks, im sure that would get a few baddies out of the water xD

Hey peazz, are you saying that the js evolution is easier for you to use than your 7s superfish in a straight comparison? Or do you feel that it was helpful to learn on the 7s then transition to the JS evolution?

Hey JD,

I think if i had not ridden my 7s, i would be clueless about where i need to be in the wave to get a smooth take off, The shorter the board the more critical u need to be in the wave, Sometimes it gets quite scary in a tipping wave ;) u think its going to smash u in the back.

In comparison to my 7S my JS Evo is easier to paddle out to the back (by miles) but what it does need being shorter is more explosive strokes to get into the wave.

If i had to recommend the 7S as a high volume board to a learner, I would tell them to go bigger ;).

Thanks for the reply, thats kinda what I was expecting. I'm going to try looking for something like a 7s in the 6'6" to 7' range to help me transition from my current board to a smaller one.

Go for a Superfish, They are epic fun once u get into wave GD. If your in hong kong i will sell you mine.
My only other gripe is I have the Poly board, and the glass job is pretty crappy, Look at the epoxy version, u get a little extra buoyancy as well :).

I find they are like a high volume shorty / fish hyrid, they have that narrow outline, but have a stepped deck and extra volume in the nose :)

Ya, if I wasn't trying to save some money I would just get an epoxy fish that was like 6'8". I have a nice 8'2" longboard in great condition that I'm hoping someone is willing to trade for it. I'm in the Los Angeles area so craigslist here is overflowing with boards, just got to find someone who bought a nice fish and decided they would be better off with a longboard.

I just purchased some fcs am-2 thrusters for my board to try out instead of my pc-5 / gx-q quad set.

Its totally transformed the board, im really shocked!
