10' Bruce Jones longboard

Postby kernhills » Mon May 20, 2013 2:27 am

Hello,

I have a 10' Bruce Jones longboard given to me by a friend some years ago. My son dropped the nose on to the driveway and split the fiberglass there (shown in attached pictures). I'm considering what to do with it, since my oldest son is now considering learning the sport. Can you tell me what type of board this is, and whether it's appropriate for a beginner? Also, any idea what it may cost to repair the damage in the pictures so that it can be used again? I'd also be interested in a rough estimate of its value if I sell it as-is, or have it repaired. Feel free to make me an offer in interested. Im in So CA about 1 1/2 hours away from Long Beach. My son has a lot of hobbies right now to take on surfing as well.. lol ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated!!!

Much Thanks!!

Steve Kaufer

That looks like a perfect board for him to learn on. The noise dying really isn't that bad I would guess like 40 to 80 depending on hoe much of the foam is damaged and if you need to color match!

Well you should ask the repair shop you take it to! Kill two birds with one stone

How old is your son? 10' is a lot of board, so it might be too big for him to handle. I generally think that about 8ft is the best size to learn on.

Buy a surfboard repair kit (or fibreglass + resin) and DIY; taking it to the shop always results in unnecessary care (and expense), plus the hassle of collecting it.

Edit > or 7ft for a little 'un
