2008 RETRO VW T5 SURF VAN - BRAND NEW CONVERSION - INTERIOR NEVER USED - £24,500
This is the KARVE KAMPERS Limited Edition 'TRANSRETRO' model – designed to make the owner proud to throw open the doors and relax in by-gone luxury next to a stunning Cornish beach. Be warned though, let too many passers-by admire the unique interior and relaxing will no longer be on the cards!
KARVE KAMPERS are handcrafted, taking many hundreds of hours, to create an interior with soul and character, as they were in the 60's, a feeling that can not be replicated any other way. They are finished to a show-winning standard and are highly functional and usable.
This van has a VW FACTORY WARRANTY and low mileage (18,000) and has never been used and abused as a builders van. The STUNNING INTERIOR will awaken the senses with smooth highly varnished wood and soft textured microfibre. Sheep's wool insulation provides a quiet and warm atmosphere. FEATURES INCLUDE: surfboard and wetsuit storage, tide clock, barometer and clock, valuables safe and key pod, touch sensitive lights, magazine rack, under-seat storage, rear door cooker, water container, cool box, 'outBACK' rear door shelter, two tables and bed, bonnet half bra, Northcore seat covers and wetsuit bags. Please note: Private Reg K44 ARV is NOT included in the sale.
This is a gadget-free zone. Enjoy the beach – leave the tv and playstation to the couch potatoes. THE 'outBACK' REAR SHELTER Outback - surfing term meaning out beyond the waves, where surfers sit when waiting for the next wave. In this case meaning out the back of the van, making outdoor space into a useful, weatherproof cooking and living space. The 'outBACK' includes units attached to the rear barn doors – the KOOLBOX and the KOOKBOX. The Koolbox to keep your food and drinks cool, the Kookbox for cooking, and the Cover-up to keep this area dry. 'Kookbox' was the name given to a hollow wooden surfboard first made by Tom Blake in the 1920's. 'COVER-UP' is a surfing term describing a move very similar to surfing through a barrel (when the wave is curling over your head), but very quick and short.
As in the 60's vans, cooking was an outdoor activity – cookers were located on the side barn-doors. Taking inspiration from this KARVE KAMPERS have custom units built onto the rear barn doors to include the cooker, retro cooler and water storage. The tailgate option is popular with surfers as they like to use it as a shelter when changing or hanging out. KARVE KAMPERS specifically source the barn door models to create a covered cooking and changing area, with the addition of the 'Cover-up' waterproof cover.
KARVE KAMPERS are not just vans, they are vehicles in which to enjoy life. Subtle. Classic. Simplicity reigns.
