One of the better beach breaks in this area of west Wales. Freshwater West is a fun, fast and powerful wave that breaks on all tides and can hold up to 8 feet.
FW works on a south west swell and is offshore with an east wind.
Make your way to Pembroke (make sure you stop to look at the castle) and head out west towards Angle. You will pass the Oil refinery and the MOD site on your left. Keep going and it is soon signposted.
When I went I camped in the dunes. Not sure if you still can though.
Access and parking right next to the beach. Parking can get busy, especially at the weekend and public holidays. Parking is free.
