General Description
Very occasionally breaks. Best surf is 3/4 high tide. watch out for shallow rocks, Head surf can be created when there is big swell. A long right which will a nice clean face and about a 15 second ride if condtions are good enough.
I suggest look at the Orewa surf forecast. if the sweel there is anything above 2-3 metres then ur in for a treat at army bay. On big days faces can be quite steep so I recomend a shorter board.
If the reef is breakig well there will also be a dumping shore break over sand which is great fun on a body board.

When its flat other spots further north like Waipu. However, the West Coast is much more consistent - just watch out for sharks!
