Used to be a secret spot south of Perth, now it's a really popular beach break that always seems to be packed. There's loads of development now and new houses seem to be going up daily.
As for the surf, it catches more of the swell than the city beaches, which is probably why it's popular. It's an average beach break, and can be prone to closing out. Pretty standard.
You can walk up or down the beach away from the main peaks where the waves are not so good but are far less crowded.
Secret Harbour is about 40 mins south of Perth. Turn off the main road and head straight for the beach. There's a car park.
You might want to do yourself a favour and keep on going to the breaks around Margaret River further south.
