Bribie Island is a good wave for beginners as it has small rolling waves and it has shelter from southerly winds by Moreton Island. The waves usually are small and don't have much power. The best tide is high tide and the wind is best from the west, southwest. The best time of the year is March to May. The best swell is 2 foot - 4 foot.
Needs a Ene or e swell of 1.5m to 2.0m+ for 2-4foot+ waves any south in it and it will be tiny. Light winds from sw for hollow fun closeouts that sometimes have exits, ne winds can give small peelers for beginners. Tide needs to be the top 3/4 of the rising tide towards high, for some reason on lower tides the waves are tiny but build quickly as tide builds.
Mostly messy and tiny but when it on, its pretty fun. the sweep can be crazy even when small. Sharks are found in high numbers in the area, LOTS fish around, fisherman catch big bronzies and Bull sharks in the surf at bribie regularly.
