Mr Lozano With The Press

Mexican surfer Angelo Lozano, recovered from a surgery that kept him away from the action for a while, and gave a press conference in his country. In the “Metro City Sport Bar and Grill”, located at Oaxaca downtown, the most important media of the country gathered together to know about Lozano’s 2009’s events Schedule.

Puerto Escondido’s charger answered several questions about his triumph in the WQS that took place at Puerto Escondido last November. Four newspapers and the TV Azteca sent their correspondents to cover the conference. Lozano expressed his enthusiasm to represent his country in Costa Rica where the next ISA World Surfing Games will take place.

In Search Of A Place In The World Cup

The surfer from Oaxaca will look for a place in the Mexican Team that will participate in the “Olympics of Surfing”, known as the Billabong ISA World Surfing Games which will take place in Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica on August.

That’s what he said to the press in the conference where he was in the company of the manager of Metro City Sport Bar, Maribel Arango. Angelo Lozano Corzo won the last International event held in Mexico, the Vans PXM Pro, a 3 stars event of the ASP World Qualyfing Series.

Lozano Corzo missed some stages of the tour on January and February due to the surgery he underwent some days ago. Nevertheless he is now recovering from it and in a few days he will come back to the water to start the tour, and to participate in the closing of the National Surf Tour 2009 that will take place for the first time at Puerto Escondido.

In this stage the best surfers will look for a place among the 10 surfers of the Mexican Team and Angelo Lozano wants to be one of them.

“I’m really happy with 2008 triumphs, it was not easy to change the division, the level is different. Luckily my hard work was rewarded with the triumphs and the experience I gained in the competitions” said the surfer from Oaxaca.
 

He also said that the victory in the WQS at Puerto Escondido is not only a credit to himself but also to Mexico.

“I had never imagined that I was going to make it to the final, not because I wasn’t sure of my skills, but because of the level of the tournament, it was a 3-starts event, we hardly have the chance to participate in that kind of events. And for me it was a victory just to have entered, obviously it was even better to have won it, and at home, for Oaxaca and Mexico” said a happy Lozano.

Lozano Corzo was not among the favourites, but he finally became the winner among the 35 Mexican surfers who participated in the competition. He is one of the youngest surfers who won such an important stop of the tour. Now he will try hard to be prepared to represent Mexico in the Olympic of Surfing.

“I know it’s not going to be easy, but I’m confident and focused on doing a good job, so that I can give my state – Oaxaca – and my country another victory” said finally.
 

Thus, Lozano will start the practice with the ALAS tour (6-stars) that will be carried out in Panama from April 22-25.

Mr. Lozano Con La Prensa

Recuperado de la intervención quirúrgica que lo mantuvo alejado de la acción, el surfista mexicano Ángelo Lozano brindó una conferencia de prensa para la prensa de su país. En el “Metro City Sport Bar and Grill”, ubicado en el centro de Oaxaca, los principales medios del Estado se dieron cita para conocer el cronograma de eventos 2009 del respetado charger de Puerto Escondido.

Su victoria en el WQS realizado en Puerto Escondido el pasado mes de noviembre, fue el eje de varias de las preguntas realizadas por los cuatro periódicos y de la TV Azteca que enviaron a sus corresponsales para cubrir la conferencia. Con todas las expectativas en el próximo mundial de ISA que se realizará en Costa Rica durante el mes de agosto, Lozano manifestó su entusiasmo por representar a su país en las olas ticas.

En Busca Del Pase Al Mundial

El surfer oaxaqueño Angelo Lozano buscará formar parte de la Selección Mexicana que participará en la Olimpiada del Surf mejor conocida como Campeonato Mundial Billabong justa a efectuarse en el mes de agosto en Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.

Así transcurrió en conferencia de prensa, en donde Ángelo Lozano Corzo, actual campeón de la parada del Circuito clasificatorio de Surf Mundial WQS con calidad de 3 estrellas de Vans, acompañado de Maribel Arango gerente de Metro City Sport Bar, dio a conocer las actividades de su ambicioso y complicado calendario 2009.

Lozano Corzo, perdió algunas fechas en el mes de enero y febrero debido a la operación quirúrgica que tuvo hace unos días, sin embargo ya se encuentra en rehabilitación y en poco tiempo volverá al agua para empezar el tour, de cara al Cierre del Circuito Nacional de Surf 2009, que tendrá como sede por primera vez en Puerto Escondido.

Esta competición es clasificatoria para el Mundial, ya que es en esta fecha donde saldrán los mejores surfers que integraran la selección de 10 atletas mexicanos, y en donde Angelo Lozano buscara ponerse la camiseta.

“Estoy muy contento por los triunfos que se han dado en el 2008, el subir de categoría no ha sido fácil, más aún porque el nivel es diferente, para mi buena fortuna el trabajo que he realzado se ve reflejado en los triunfos que no son solamente colgarse una corona, sino más bien el fogueo adquirido en diversas competiciones” expresó el oaxaqueño.

Dijo también que después de adjudicarse el título en el Clasificatorio Mundial en Puerto Escondido, es un merito no solo para él como atleta sino para México.

“Nunca me imagine siquiera llegar a la final, y no es porque dude de mis capacidades, sino por el nivel que se maneja en esos torneos, son clase 3 estrellas, pocas veces tenemos la oportunidad siquiera de poder participar, y para mí el solo hecho de entrar fue un triunfo, y claro mucho mejor ganarlo, en mi casa, para Oaxaca y México” enfatizó contento.

Y es que Lozano Corzo, a pesar de tener camino andado en el circuito del surf, no era favorito, y de los 35 surfers mexicanos entre oaxaqueños y foráneos, tras avanzar la competencia fueron cayendo uno a uno, siendo al final Ángelo Lozano la esperanza viviente.

A sus 21 años, Lozano Corzo se convirtió en uno de los surfers más jóvenes en ganar un circuito de esta magnitud, máxime entre todo el talento nacional.

Ahora, la situación se complicará, sin embargo se prepara para estar al 100 por ciento en busca del boleto para representar a México en las Olimpiadas del Surf.

“Sé que no será fácil, pero también tengo confianza en mí, no me presiono sólo me concentró en hacer un buen papel, así que pondré todo de mi parte para darle otra victoria a mi estado que es Oaxaca y a mi país” concluyó.
 

De esta manera, Lozano empezará su gira con el circuito ALAS calidad 6 estrellas, a efectuarse en Panamá del 22-25 Abril y de ahí el resto de justas con las que acumulará fogueo y ritmo.
