The UK Surf Awards 2008

The 2008 Surf Awards in association with the UK Pro Surf Tour is back this year bigger and better than ever. The prestigious awards night will take place at the Esplanade hotel in Newquay on Sunday the 16th of November.

The weekend will also see the Animal Newquay Open coming to Fistral beach, the 9th and final event on the 2008 UK Pro Surf Tour.

With an amazing venue right at South Fistral the event promises to bring together up to 300 people including the cream of British and Irish surfing and industry professionals for a night of awards, great food and music in a celebration of the UK's thriving surf scene and its outstanding individual achievements.

The accolades will consist of awards based on the results of the 2008 UK Pro Surf Tour as well as awards for individual achievements in all areas of surfing which will be decided by a panel of surfing and industry professionals. This is a great opportunity to showcase and support what British and Irish surfing has to offer and to celebrate all that is great about our thriving surf scene.

Tour Director Dave Reed said "This is the fifth annual awards night we have put together, It is a time to congratulate and reward high achievers in the sport of surfing. The event will also provide an incentive for future stars in the sport".
