Mirka Solar Wins The Billabong Solo Chicas Circuit

Around 160 girls and women took part last weekend in the Girls Only surf festival on the beach of Zarautz (Guipúzcoa). Almost 80 girls took part in the surf competition, in which they were given 3,000 euros, trophies and gifts from Kustom and Billabong for everyone. Some others opted for the surf school which comes to the event every year to give free classes.

The competition featured a high level, like in the previous stops in Laga and Getaria. The Open final gathered Estitxu Estremo, Myrian Imaz, Mirka Solar and Garazi Sanchez, and exciting until the last minute. The battle was fierce between Zarautz local, Imaz, Mirka Solar, who had won the stop in Laga.

Finally, the victory of the event and therefore the championship title of the first female circuit of the country, Billabong Solo Chicas, went to Mirka Solar of the Billabong and Kustom team. The girls enjoyed a weekend of good waves, sun and the best atmosphere. In the evening all the participants were treated with a BBQ and videos, including the Billabong Girls’ surf movie Sun Surf and Salt, as well as videos taken that day in which the girls were their own lead roles.
