Quiksilver Surf Open Acapulco $100k Prize

QUIKSILVER MEXICO would like to announce the "QUIKSILVER SURF OPEN ACAPULCO", this professional tournament is open, as its name says, to all national and international pro surfers who would like to participate and is a continuation of the International events that have taken place on Mexican beaches since 2009 courtesy of the brand. With a prize Money of $100,000 USD to be distributed between the winners, the "Quiksilver Surf Open Acapulco" supported by the Surfing Association of the State of Guerrero and the Mexican Surfing Federation, makes it the richest Open surfing event in Mexico. Mexican pro surfers, such as Angelo Lozano, Christian Corzo, Adán Hernández, David Rutherford and Yuco Trujillo, among others, and international pro surfers will meet in the waves to dispute this historic prize purse, the largest ever to be offered in the Country.

Hosting the participating surfers between July 17th and July 22nd, will be the beautiful city of ACAPULCO, with its golden beaches and its waves that adapt to allow every level of ability to practice this sport all year along.

The "Quiksilver Surf Open Acapulco", presented by the Tourism Bureau of the State of Guerrero, has the objective of promoting the sport along with featuring the diverse natural beauty of the locale. Presenting a festival where surfing and the brand’s lifestyle will be evident during the six days of activities taking place in PLAYA and in the gardens of the prestigious and symbolic FAIRMONT ACAPULCO PRINCESS hotel.

With a complete schedule, the "Quiksilver Surf Open Acapulco" will offer at no charge for all of the family, not only the spectacle of surfing itself, but also art expos and workshops, live artist interventions, surfing lessons for children, beach cleaning, yoga lessons, beach volleyball, beach soccer tournaments, ping pong tournaments, live music, as well as skateboarding performances by pro skaters and a FMX show, never seen in the city’s streets, presented by Monster Energy Drink and DC Shoes Mexico.
