World champion surfers and the business community will join forces at the inaugural BlackBerry SurfAid Ball which will be held in Sydney on Friday 9 March.
Legendary New Zealand singer Tim Finn will headline the music bill with support from local DJs in a huge fundraiser for humanitarian organisation SurfAid International.
SurfAid Australia board member Charlie Lanchester, who is deputy head of Australian Equities at Perpetual, said the event was shaping up to be huge.
"I am really excited by the inaugural SurfAid BlackBerry Ball," Lanchester said. "It will be a great opportunity for the Surfing Suits to come together and celebrate their ongoing support of SurfAid.
"The combination of some of the best surfers in the world, some great live music and hopefully the cheque books of some of the more privileged, but time-poor surfing fanatics, should make for a great night for all."
Former world champions and top pro surfers including Mark Richards, Tom Carroll, Mark "Occy" Occhilupo and Simon Anderson, will be attending, and big wave aficionado Mark Mathews (co-star of Fighting Fear) will share what motivates his incredible career.
Plus there will be live and silent auctions featuring rare surfing and music memorabilia and some amazing experiences.
