Sideways surfing! HELP!

I just can't surf sideways! Any tips would be appreciated.

I'm on an NEV 7'6 21.5 x 2 3/4

how do you mean you cant surf sideways? how do you surf then? facing forwards? how the hell do you manage that:S?

I think you must mean surfing along the wave as opposed to straight down it heading for the shore. there's a thread in here already referring to that, you should check it out, it's titled 'How do i ride the line'. It suggests bottom turns and angled take-offs.

Don't know if that's what you mean with surfing sideways but it's the only way I can think of unless you're standing on your board with both feet together facing forward but that's just too mad to even comprehend so I think you must mean surfing along the wave. I'm still a beginner myself so don't have any awesome suggestions for you. Just intrigued by the surfing sideways thing.
