Hi everyone, new to this site, I've been surfing about a year now and I am really getting into it. I lived in Newquay most of my life and never tried surfing, I now live in Bristol tried surfing last year and love it.
I need some advice on paddling out, I was out last week at high tide but found it really difficult to get out, I just kept getting pushed back in, whats the best way to get out past big surf?

Id say learn how to duckdive or turtle roll.
You could also paddle out where the waves arent breaking that big then when you are further back you could paddle across to the bigger surf

look for a channel, where the waves aren't breaking, or wait for a lull (flat)..goodluck!

Surfdude Scarborough just posted an excellent link in another thread; a great video of how to get out back
