You need a wave that barrels for a start. You need to pick the right wave, be up quick and ready before the lip throws. Do your bottom turn and if the barrel is slow then stall a bit, if it is a quick wave then pump down the line. As soon as it throws try and get you and your board as high up in the barrel as you can without hitting the roof. From there you can just pretty much ride it.
