Hi dames 21, welcome to Surfing Waves,

Good to see someone new getting into surfing, and the Scottish waves should give you the opportunity to come on in leaps and bounds. For surfboard advice take a look at www.surfing-waves.com/surfboard.htm,
https://surfing-waves.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15 and other posts in the Surfing For Beginners Forum. The advice in general is get a bigger board, don't go for a small shortboard but look for a minimal or mal. If you have not surfed before then you might want to hire a board or take lessons first to see if you like it.
I don't have any information about Surf Schools in Scotland, but for surf shops there did used to be one called Granite Surf (I think) in Aberdeen - have a look in the yellow pages to see if they are still there.
If you need further information come back and let us know - in the meantime maybe a Scottish surfer may have more information on surf shops of surfing schools there.
(I must put together a page on beginners surfboards on the main site)
