whenever I do cutbacks, I usually lose all of my speed. Like, when I hit the wash, I can't get back on the face because it usually clsoes out, any help? Maybe I should be more vertical when I do it?

I realized, I was going too far down the face of the wave, so I had no shoulder to turn back onto, which meant my board sinking, I figured it out :p.

You may be stalling too much by stomping down your back foot too heavily. You want to keep some momentum going and not just stop. It's a fluid movement, even if it seems like a stop, turn.

how big is your board? If it's really big, imo you will have a hard time doing them. you need to get to the top of the wave and put some pressure on your back foot, and look at the wash and go towards it. Sorry I'm really bad at explaining.

i have a 6'1 18 1/2 2 1/4 JS Parko and a 6'2 19 1/2 2 1/2 Flyer for small waves, so i dont think it is the board. Would it be kind of like doing a slash but instead of kicking out the back foot and braking you kind of just backside bottom turn off the top?
