swell height question

I am looking on surfline's reports and their graph of the swell heights for Saturday say they are highest around evening time. I am confused as to whether swell height transfers to wave height, since I always thought the morning surfs were better. The swell heights are lowest in the morning according to the graph. If swell heights does not equal to surf height, then what is it?

You are looking at the buoys. 4 Feet at 15 seconds is way better than 10 feet at 6 seconds. You but the buoy height in half. Then add a foot or two depending on how many seconds its traveling at.

its not really that simple. swell height is the height of the swell in open ocean and doesnt correspond directly to wave height. that method would probably give a decent approximation of wave size.
