Hey Ive seen plenty of people pop up different ways than me or just different ways in general, im goofy and so i ussually paddle then i put my back foot on my pad and my front foots knee is still on the pad then i put my front foot up, but most people do it the other way around, front foot first? keep in mind my board is too short to have my toes on the end, on longer boards no knees required

also i found a way to get up on my 6' 2" by just arching my back to my feet but it kinda rips up my knees when they rub on the traction pad sooo maybe i need to get a wetsuit or something i dono

front foot definetly goes up first for me and its one quick motion... its actually pretty weird i pop up alot better and faster on a surfboard that is being jerked around on a wave in the ocean then on the stable ground..

I don't have a traction pad, and usually surf in a wetsuit... but I am goofy also.

I just do a push up with my hands at around my lower ribs, arch my back (I guess both my knees/legs are resting on the tail of my board with my legs fairly close together), then in one movement I swing both feet into the correct positions. This leaves me in a crouching position and then I stand up a bit taller once I'm balanced.

both my feet land pretty much the same time on the board, i also surf a 6'2 at the moment, its just one quick slick movement i don't have time to judge the little distance of what lands first, as for knees rubbing, you won't need a wetsuit, your skin will harden after a couple of goes and then it should be fine (painful for a couple of surfs mind)

One of the best bits of advice given to me about popping up on a new board (fitted with a traction pad) was not to wax infront of it at first so that your back foot slides to where it needs to be.
