sucky style

Postby misosoup » Wed Jun 30, 2004 12:04 am

Ive been surfing for about 2 years now and my style SLOWLY gets better but I want it to be more fluid. I think its a gene in my family for bad style because my dad has horrible style too and also my brother. I need help getting my style more fluid.

Try having someone take pics and video while you surf and then analize them. Down hill skate boards (such as those made by sector 9) are a great way to improve too when not in the water.

I'll second the skateboarding one... just carving easily downhil will give you a real feel for style, the whole twisting, carving and pumping of the board should give you an idea of what smooth flowing style is... then take it out in the water.
