Hey! I have been on here before asking for help but seems so long ago now thought I'd re add a topic!!

Iv got a shortboard but I'm only just starting out. Went a couple times towards the end of last year but havent been able to go as much as i'd like due to work.

Im looking to go alot more now this year, want to take it seriously. Just wondering if any of you can pass on some tips (heard shortboard is a bit harder to learn on). Be grateful for any advise.

Thanks

Jodie :D

Hi Jodie,

You need to get out there and practice - especially if you're going to give learning a go on a shortboard!! If you cant get out on the water practice pop ups at home, and work on your paddling muscles - I found that last tip by looking at you old posts just now. There is a search function and loads of stuff previously posted. Thing is, I know what im sposed to do I just cant do it for real - so it really is down to as much practice as you can get.

Try the 'hints and tips' post in the surfing lessons for all section which has a link to a very good film guide.
Good Luck
