worth it to buy a used board if nose has been broken??

Postby blitz » Thu Jun 17, 2004 5:19 pm

ok, i'm looking to buy my first board and i think i found just what i want...except the nose has been broken and although it has been repaired, all i ever read on here is to stay farrrr away from boards that have been seriously damaged before. there's a good chance i won't want to keep this board forever, i just want something to progress on before i go any smaller. the offer i've gotten for it is $200 (it's a 7'6" funboard)...i have yet to hear back as to whether that includes fins or not though. should i be pressing hard for a lower price (of course i'm going to anyway but is $200 outrageous?) any help here would be delightful!! thanks

Now was that 7'6" before or after the nose was broken off?

$200 for a used funboard in really good condition is reasonable. For a broken one its not.

personally ANY broken board (and I define broken as snapped or cracked 3/4 of the width) is not worth more than the complete repair cost.

a good repair shop will tell you if its unrepairable....

haha before and after i assume...apparently it was repaired by the guy who made the board in the first place. from the pics, it looks like the the nose snapped off about 3-4" down from the very tip. arggg, i don't know what to do. i really like the dimensions of it and all...but i can't ignore the damage. thanks for the advice!
