getting off the board

Is there a nice way to get off the board when you're traveling on a wave (to stop before you ride it all the way to shore) other than just jumping off? Thanks.

put your feet at the back of the board this should slow you down enough to stop. or go for the spectaular dive.

Don't do what I did the weekend and as you come to a near standstill put all your weight on the back of the board and jump off, as it has a tendency to shoot the board forwards and upwards and that can hit a thirteen year old bodyboarder with braces!!!

Admittedly it was an accident but you have to learn from your mistakes....

I am learning quickly....!

Peace Out!

Turn right off the back of the wave while lowering yourself back into a paddling position - as soon as you are off the wave you are paddling back out.
