I am a really keen surfer and have been surfing for about 4 years. The only problem is i only get to go when the school holidays come as i live in london. I know a lot about surfing from research and cant wait to move to the coast when i finish up school. I haven't seemed to improve that much and my first sessions are always rubbish  and i only get the hang of things when its at the end of the holidays which usualy last a week, mainly in Ireland. Is there any way to keep up my techniques whilst not at the sea or is pratice the only way to improve.

any advice would be great :)

well the only way to get beter is practice, either try your hardest to get down the beach, or find someone you kow who surfs and get them to take u with them when they go surfing

Ive been in tht situation once before dude and 2 put it straight, u have the disadvantage of no coast, but theres a way around 4 everythin. You could practice so much in rivers or pool. I had 2 practice a whole yr of popping up and duck diving in a pool dude! While u wait 2 live by the coast, make the most of anythin, u can learn so much wivout needing waves.

Thats one of the things about surfing you need to go often and stay fit. The only advice I can say is go to the gym and swim swim swim. So at least when you do hit the water your ready in the fitness department.
