I am going to Portugal the end of September into October and want to learn to surf. Has anyone been to any of the surf camps there? I am looking at either going to Porto or Sagres, but am open to suggestions. Thanks for any advice.

The only surf camps i know here in Portugal are located in Aveiro, which is 60km from porto, and in Ericeira (near Lisbon).

There are also other good spots, nearby Porto, like Espinho. It's just 30km from Porto.

You have fine cheap trains (which allows you to carry your surfboard into them) that goes to Aveiro (and stops in Espinho).

It's a good catch to stay in Porto and go by train to beach.

thank you

I would recommend the surf experience in lagos. Excellent camp, good facilities, instructors are spot on and Nice place to stay too.
Waves on that coast are more mellow and suited to beginners.
