How do i put on the basecoat and wax?

so i just got my new board, and i got a basecoat and warm water wax for it. So how do i put on the basecoat do i just put it on in a circular motion using the edge of the bar, and then after put the wax on top in the same fashion? or what?


im new to surfing,
used to be a bodyboarder :shock:

This is what I do.

Make sure your board is cool to the touch. With your base coat, rub it on in a circular motion, your going to have to press down pretty hard. At first its going to just kinda smear on. Keep doing this until the whole board has a layer of wax on it. Then go back to where you first started, and do it all over again, but don't press down too hard this time. Keep rubbing it on till you start to get a bump to your wax job. Don't rub in one spot too long or you'll heat it up, and flatten out the bumps. Keep going till you reach the end, then start over again, but this time use even less pressure. By the time you get to the end you should have a perfect bumpy wax job. Then put on your top coat.

Just make sure once it starts to bump up, to not rub to hard or you'll flatten them out.

You should end up with results similar to this.
