Whenever I put wax on my board it comes off in little bits, it is real annoying. Is it the wax or just me?

Make sure your wax suits the water temp you surf in.
Most waxes will have the temp. range on the front of the plastic, so buy some that suits usual water temp.

i buy stuff that is made in the Island, so I presume it's good for here. (30*C water..not so great for wax!!)
Any ideas..my board is basically just glass...like 1 lumps of wax!

You need the extra tropical HOT water wax
They do make wax for that temp. I just havn't been lucky enough to ever need that.
Take some in your board short's pocket, so you can re-apply between sets.

Also, it depends on where you wax your board and what temperature your board is at the time. Obviously if you wax your board on the beach, in the sun, you are doing something wrong. Wax it in a cooler place, or dip it in the ocean for a minute or two.
And what driftalong said about keeping wax in your pocket.

it seeems you arent waiting for the wax to cake on your board correctly. you ahve to just keep building layers on your board. after you have got the base layer of wax down, you do not need to press really hard when applying more wax, becaues if you do, the wax your putting on will peel off the bottom layer of wax. Just rub it on gently, and watch as the wax beads up on your board. When it is suitable, go out and surf!

if ur using mrs palmers cover where you stand in a thik layer of wax, the get a wax combe and stroke diagonaly down the board all the way, then do it in the opposite direction, then lightly go over your board rubbing the wax in circles. that should do it. Also NEVER WAX YOUR BOARD IN THE SUN.

Waxing your board in the sun just removes wax!!
Yea, I sorted it..I just applied heavy layers of wax over an over again. And I brought the wax with with me during sessions.
Thanks guys
