1 more I need a board post, help please.

Basically people tell me tos tart out with a funboard, I can already stand on a funboard and could stand up on a six foot when i was about 4'6.
The other half of people tell me that if I go out more than 3 times a week and have friends who are decent surfers something 4-8 inches overhead will do. The surf in my parts is decent, it is either flat or waist to head high. I was thinking about going with a pride 6'4 squash, 19 inches wide, 2 3/4 thick. I know this is stupid, but since I am 13 and can not get a job or have any money i have to think about the long run. I am 5'7 and 150 lbs.
