Surf workouts

Hi all,

what are your favorite surf workout videos online? Preferably stuff you can do at home without equipment. I'm filming my own since I can't find decent ones to follow, something in the 15-30 minute range. There are a lot of 5 minute instructions that just briefly show the moves but not many full workouts to follow.

The workout I've always found has given me the most gains is the original Insanity programme. It is pretty hardcore so you have to be at a pretty decent level of fitness anyway and they are about 40 mins in total. But the mixture of explosive cardio and core work really works well for surfing in my opinion. In addition to the cardio interval stuff it also really works on repetitive low down power from a squat which obviously key in the water. Good flexibility gains in the stretches too. If you can mix this in with a regular swimming workout and you'll soon see big gains I reckon.

Most of it is on youtube or ebay the DVD pack well worth it.

As far as I know, swimming requires constant cardio loads, which increase the endurance of the athlete's body. How you go about your day depends on doing the right cardio. Various types of machines are used for this, such as the rowing machine and the treadmill.

I mostly do exercises that mimic surf movements.
Just using a couple dumbbells at home..

Split squats = Carving
Push-ups = Popups
Tricep Extensions (with dumbells) = Paddling

I do slight variations of the exercises below.. to make them more similar to surf posture.
