It’s killing me! Inside right thigh is raw.
Any tips on ridding this curse from my life?

Get balance in your life, then rash on both thighs.
Seriously though, longer non rash board shorts, have a look how you are sitting on the board.
And definitely don't use Vaseline. Don't shave either, nappy rash and razor rash don't look good on a grown man.

Try getting the wax off your rails along the lower half of your board so your legs can slide along the rails smoothly. Wear longer board shorts that won't chafe your legs.

Do you wear a wetsuit? I get a rash every now and then in my armpit of all places it can get that painful that I want to get out of the water.

It’s through a 3/2 wetty, have ripped a nice hole in it now. Used to only get it when I wore boardies but now it doesn’t matter what I wear. Have cleaned up the wax on my board, have tried using my daughters nappy rash cream. Nothing helps!

I went through this. Made sure wax was well inside the rails and became extremely conscious of my movements. I’ve been wearing board shorts with rash guard shorts underneath all summer now, and haven’t had a problem since I changed to the rash shorts and my habits.

Thanks for the replies. There’s no wax near the rails and I’m getting it through my wetsuit. Must be doing something odd.

Some overlooked detective work:
1) What type of board and construction ?
2) How long have you let the raw skin heal up before you went out again ?
3) What is the construction of your wetsuit ?
a) GBS - glued blind stitch
b) Flatlock
c) Overlock
4) Did you try flushing the inside of the wetsuit with water before you paddle out ?
5) Why is it only happening on the Right leg ? Hmmm.

Try some lycra cycling shorts under your wetsuit. That might help. It's also possible that your wetsuit doesn't fit you so it's rubbing against your leg. Good luck.

1) Its a 9’2 mal, polyurethane blank, polyester resin.
2) This is the first time its gotten raw in a wetty. Was sore on Saturday, surfed again sunday came out and it was raw.
3) GBS
4) No
5) No idea.

5a) Which side do you turn once you decide to go prone and paddle for a wave?
5b) which side do you climb onto a board from after you get in water?

5a) I turn to my left almost exclusively.
5b) From the left side.

I'm seeing the theme... the body turning with the left side being the pivot while probably pressing the right leg against the rail. So...

maybe not the rash but at least you can try switching things around.
