Popping up

I have a unique problem when I'm popping up. When I'm standing on the board riding a wave, I stand with my left foot forward and right foot back.
But when I'm popping up, I always have a tendency to put my right foot forward first, than the left, and than I have to change position as I'm the wrong way on the board.
How do I correct this?

No. My natural stance on the board has always been left forward, right back. So what I'm saying is when I pop up I should put my left forward, right back.
But that not how I pop up. I always have a tendency to start the pop up with my right foot.

So from prone position, for you, the leg that initiates the movement is the right leg. So you’re doing a CRAWL up. But that foot is going all the way forward ? You’re not going to one or both knees are you ?

Yes I'm really doing a crawl up. And yes I go to my knees first, than into the stand

iam, some of the guys in this forum will actually provide useful advice to your question(s). I'll only share something fairly unique that may amuse and, possibly, encourage you. I'm a reverse foot. When waves are small and have little power, my automatic (natural) stance is goofy foot. When waves are larger and have punch, my automatic (natural) stance is natural foot.
