Hey, everyone, it's almost time to start getting banged up a bit for me! A little while ago a friend hooked me up with a 6'2" single-fin swallow tail. Born in Hawaii and living in Florida, I can't see why I wouldn't give this a shot. I got the paddling down a little the other day, along with the sitting. Now all I need is some messy water with a little current and the adventure should begin! I'll let you know how many bruises I accumulate! Wish me luck!
See ya! MK

Well, finally got out there. 7 AM Saturday morning, just north of Lauderdale. Decent cloud cover. It was gorgeous!! 15-20 mph winds- on shore! Damn! Little 2-4 foot rollers. Looked good for about a second or two before the lip rolled over into foam. The waves only ran about 10 feet before going flat. Paddled out & around anyway. Unfortunately, didn't really have a chance to get up. Didn't slide off of the board in the headwinds & waves paddling either though! Board stayed afloat, so the boyancy concern should be by the wayside.
Hopefully the winds will swing around when I go up to Stuart to see my sister. The board will be with me! Feels good just to be trying! See ya! MK

Respect for giving it a go. The key is to stay positive and celebrate each achievement.
If you make it out back quickly then that's great
If you make a duckdive - great
If you catch a wave - great
If you wipe out, get held under for 2 mins but don't drown - hell, don't take it bad - it proves you can wipe out badly and make it out.
Stay positive, keep charging!
