Surf experience 69 years old

It is 5 years since I wrote my last post. I think it is time for an update. I am now logging 1150 surf days. I can pop up almost the way you are supposed to, But it is not always I am landing on the board as I am supposed to. Also I find it difficult to stay low. For one reason or other I tend to stretch my legs.
I then tried to make my own pop up, and it actually works well. Mind you this is a pop for old people. If you are young and want to do it right, do not even look. But if you like me are starting to get a bit grey in the hair and stiff in t he back, it may interest you.
What I like is that I have good control over the board.
I have resently changed to fin to a nose riding type. makes the board keep direction better. Suit the waves here.
In this video I am doing a home made rail grab
In this video I making the pop up
This video show how I used to pop up. Which is fine for nice waves, but can lead to some uncontrolled situations in my case. Especially in fast hollow waves.
Also I found that i short stretching session 5 minutes 3 times a day every day 365 days a year works very well. I do one for hamstring 2 for the back a short serie for the neck.
Good luck with your surfing
All the best Torben
