Hi Nisan ,a few questions, how long is a while for you, it is great you are enjoying your surfing!
Are you riding the wave face yet?
How much do you weigh and how tall are you?
What sort of board were you riding previously and the current board?
Where are you learning to surf?
So many questions, that's true but they help us have an understanding of how to advise you :D Your English is pretty good so no problems there!
Let's get you surfing well with even more enjoyment

Hi Jaffa
Thanks for the quick reply! :)
Now I am surfing on 5"8 shortboard,at Israel(not alot of waves out here if you know but there is a huge surfing community out here)I surfed on 5"11 board before. This is the stats of my board now:
Length 5"8
Width 18(7/8)
Thickness 2(1/4)
Volume (26 I asked for it)
Yes I am riding the face of the wave and pumping for speed trying to get first manuvers now :)
But the paddling out really challenging for me This is my seconed shortboard but I didnt surf for a while(3 months since get this board and now im back when there is waves i Am going to the sea)
I was surfing like one year before
This suc*s because on a long paddle out I am getting so tired And on the wave i have SO MUCH fun I am i love with this sport and u have alot of motivation to work on my paddle at home and gym and in the Water.(Forgot to tell i Am a small man 1.7meters tall and 55kg)

Get a bigger board and don't get so tired is the obvious answer. Surf more and get in better surf shape is another.....nothing like paddling your board to get paddle fitness. Besides that you can swim, do exercises that build your muscles, do exercises that develop your cardiovascular ability. But nothing like surfing to get better at surfing.

There are some breaks that I would like to use a smaller board and do sometimes, but usually I take a larger board that will paddle better so that I can stay out there awhile and get more waves. One man's approach.

I want to stay with this type of board .. do you have any excercise not only at water?

Shalom,.... Your board is totally unsuitable for where you are in your surfing journey.
Simple equation, if you cannot paddle well , you cannot get out to the break line , you cannot catch waves easily, so less waves ridden, so less cchance of improving your skills. Less days of breaking waves = loss of surf fitness. The mostly weaker Mediterranean waves are ridden better with a longer board.
Why do you want to ride a board that size?
What advantage do you think it is giving you?
Short, narrow and thin, mostly suitable for a more highly skilled surfer........ sadly not you.
What is it in your opinion that excludes longer boards?

I am sure you can do an internet search for the right exercises. Paddling is the best exercise for paddling however if you are older or have other issues then doing exercises that strengthen your shoulders is going to help. But since it appears you can't get to the ocean enough to do that here I did a search for you http://surfstrengthcoach.com/guide-to-surf-paddle-training/
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

Also:

- make sure you are positioned on the board properly to be most efficient. A tip is to lay the board in flat water by itself and notice how it floats and where the nose is above the water. then hop on the board and try and put your body so the board ends up in the same position (for your board it wont exactly because you will sink the board under the water, but get it so its the same just lower in the water)

- make sure you are paddling properly. Google 'rob case paddling' and read through his stuff and watch his videos. they are a bit analytical but you will get the idea.

Paddling distance (vs paddling for waves) is mostly an endurance activity. So swimming and high rep weights for the lats (upper back), shoulders and triceps (high rep meaning 12-15). Basically the exercises in the link posted above. General cardio is good as well

You reap what you sow. You made your bed, now sleep in it. You "wanted" only 26 liters of volume, you got 26 liters of volume.

How was paddling out to the break with the 5'11" ? I think 18 7/8" is too narrow for the limited time you've been surfing.

Both these waves are being surfed on 9ft + boards note they turn well at the top of the wave and ride the face.
So length is not a factor it is skill, guys ride logs at pipelineguys ride body boards at pipeline , and foamies and short boards and they body surf , some surfers excel on all of them.
SKILL put all or any board on the beach without a riders skill they can do nothing all they can be is an enhancement of the skills the rider has. Do you play golf? You change your clubs to suit but you have to have the underlying skill or just be a hacker. fancy brands or fashion statements don''t do it!

So the 5'11" paddled and surfed pretty good. The 5''8" was too hard to paddle right ? Why did you specifically tell the shaper to make you a board with only 26 liters of volume ? Did someone recommend that on the internet or a friend from the beach ? For only a year + of experience, most beginner ( and intermediate-advanced ) surfers don't fully understand how volume effect how they surf.

nisansurf wrote:K i will check for a long board but what with retro fish?

NO....... you need to just STOP and pause for a bit. You're just a ball in the pinball machine bouncing back and forth. Get a 26 L shortoard, get a longboard, get a Fish board, get a groveller, get a epoxy, take protein drinks...... blah blah.
1) Go to the beach an observe what beginners surfers of you level are riding, ( not what the ripper surfers are riding ). See who is making the most of the wave.
2) Ask your friends to borrow their old used funboard or fish board they learned on. Try a 6'4" , a 7'6" and so on. Take notes on what you like and didn't like. Let us know what you found out.
3) Take your time. Surfing is a life long experience. Don't be in such a rush to do carving cutbacks if you don't have the basics before that. ( a strong paddle is one of them ).
