well,
the classic go-pro front view/nose mounted it is fine to have a look at your stance and why you are wiping out.
I spent hours watching my rides and trying to compare my movements, or weight distribution, to some good surfer.
If you watch carefully you can see your error. It's a good tool to understand what you are doing at beginner level.
Then, yes, you actually need to see the waves. That's where I'm at now. I really need to see the lot to have a real sense of my actions. But that's becouse, thanks god, after almost 4 years I'm starting to really play with the waves. I'm slowly entering another stage. The problem is: who the hell is going to film me

? My mates will be out with me, my parter will be sunbathing or shopping.. i don't see it happening anytime soon..
Video problem:
from the little bit visible I think
that you filmed the pc monitor with your phone, using your phone vertical!!
[ I'm so sick of people filming stuff without rotating the phone properly. Pc , tv, laptop, tablets, megascreen, cinemas, youtube windows..... they are ALL wide -left to right-, and short up/down. What people do? They shoot tall and narrow!
(nothing personal here!)]
So probably there's a problem between the video window (16/9) and video itself (9/16)..
or something like that..
