Hello all.

I've surfed twice before and loved it. The girlfriend surprised me with my own board at Christmas, a Torq 8ft minimal, and I have booked some more lessons.

I'm looking to buy my first suit. I've tried loads on and Quicksilver appears to be the best fit. I can get a Cypher from a few years ago brand new for £150 - is this good value? if fits nicely, feels warm (out of the water!!). I will be surfing year round on the south UK coast, I may buy a hooded vest for the winter.

Its this suit.

here
A good place to start or should I be looking for something else?

:blah:

:claps: for the girlfriend :claps:

Yes, that's about right for the UK. It says 12–16ºC, but a 5/4/3mm should get you through winter (8ºC on the south coast) with a thermal rashie (plus boots, gloves, hood, etc). It'll be too warm for summer, but you can worry about that in May 8)

tape,
I have the 3/2 version of that suit. I love it. Like you, I bought last year's model when I got it. The only other wetsuit to consider at this performance level is Xcel "drylock." However, You may not be able to find a deep doiscount on any Xcel suits. One other consideration, you could go with 4/3 and wear a long sleeve rash guard underneath during the really cold weather.
