Duck diving

Postby Mrsnikayy » Sat Jan 03, 2015 5:11 am

Hi I have been surfing on a longboard and doing turtle rolls. I was thinking of getting a 7'2 fun-board and was wondering if I could duck dive on it. I'm 115lb or ( 51kg I believe)

115 lbs. Duck dive a 7'2" ? Probably not likely. Duck dive a molded epoxy 7'2" Nope, not going to happen.
I am 120 lbs. and a 6'4" fish is about my max. Sometimes I get blown back badly.

Nope.
Or at least not properly - you'd be able to do a 'duck dip' to break through weak waves, but no way could you sink it properly. No matter how good your technique, that pesky physics of flotation will get in the way.
You'll probably find me surfing, but if not, I'll probably be in the photography studio

Have been in turtle roll hell today as I tried to get my 8'4 out back.. Tried getting more forward on the nose a bit to sink it through the water as I was finding it being thrown up in front of me and then away to the side when I tried to just muscle through.. Ended up surfing backwards past all the guys killing themselves laughing as the angle made me catch it perfectly in REVERSE!
