Hang in there!!!

Postby SadisticNature » Mon Sep 29, 2014 1:10 am

Just wanted to post this after an extremely successful day of surfing! Been going at it for about 2 months now ( I started off going ALL the time, just about every other day, but had to slow down because I was out of shape and not someone who works out regularly, thus I got worn out) and I feel its starting to click with me. For a good while there I was trying to push myself and surf these sizable waves (about 3-5 feet) that I saw people ripping on before I got into surfing. I picked a new spot today and I decided to put myself back at square one. Go out, work on catching white wash. Get that down pat, then go for the pop ups. I had already learned these things but I felt that, since I was struggling in the unbroken waves, maybe I rushed through that stage of learning. Good move on my part! I found myself riding some nice (broken) waves at tourmaline and even rode an unbroken one! Holy crap it felt good when I caught the unbroken one! I didn't know I could go that fast on a surfboard!

Well the point of me posting this was to let anyone out there who might be struggling and getting frustrated to just hang in there! Stay motivated! It helped me to read surf magazines and watch videos on youtube when I was working through the real uneventful days of surfing. The day when you break past what seems like a brick wall and begin the real journey of learning to surf is near!

It's all a matter of persistence
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.
