What am I doing wrong? (video)

Hey guys, could you explain me what i'm doing wrong in this video? It happened more than once. Do I need to walk foward immediately after the first turn?

Hmm, you might want to re-post this in the longboarding section.

Just guessing based on the video, you turned but up the wave but could not turn down, so you would need to be farther on the tail in order to get the nose to turn.

I'll let others chime in, might be something else

It is a bit hard to tell but I think (a) you are actually too far back - you turn up the wave but have no speed. Your front foot should be somewhere in the front half of the board most of the time. And (b) your first turn is too sharp. You end up parallel to the wave and right at the top, where there is no power. You need to be further down the wave (around the middle) if you want to head straight across. So head at 45 degrees down the wave

So
- get more forward
- turn less
(actually, getting forward will reduce the turn probably)

then weight on the front foot leaning down the wave

You turned up the wave... but didn't turn back down again

That little wave won't have the power to keep you moving at 90 degrees, so you'll have to pump and down a little bit, or angle a little bit more with the wave.

It's hard to tell, but I think your positioning is fine and you just didn't top turn. Were you aiming to just trim along the wave or turn back down it from the top? Either way, when you're nearing the top, you need to twist slightly back towards the beach. If you twist your upper body, your lower body will follow

This is an advance version of all that you should do to turn the board, the no hands takeoff is a an extra. \
It is about positioning your body to move everything to the turn!
