Surfing Waves

Hello im new to surfing i live in oahu and have been out 5 times so far for 3 hours each time or more. I understand the whole get a longboard thing and plan to get one when i have the money cause i would like to have 2 boards as of right now a buddy gave me a board for 50$ since he is leaving it is a 6'6x20.5x3 I have been standing up probably 3/10 times but am usually surfing in white plains. Im looking for advice on places to learn stuff from when not surfing Genreal tips and good places for me to surf on oahu since i am beginnging i am basicaly about to start going out 4-6 times a week maybe sometimes every day since white plains is only 40 mins away after work. Thank you for any advice in advance.

Aloha I'm on Oahu too! White plains is an extremely mellow fun break. Honestly try doing burpees but instead of planting normal plant like you're landing on your board. That 6 might be a little too short especially with the crowds but it's probably got plenty float. Be mindful that since its summer white plains will get busier so good luck and have fun! If you need any help just let me know maybe we'll meet up in town!

lol i took some lessons this morning from doug on the north shore i definatly came out with alot more understanding than i had before.
