Went out and kept getting on top of the lip

Why is this happening? Am I completely misjudging the wave? The wave is comming and I am trying to get my board the same angle as the wave so I can go down and then ride it but for some reason I am just constantly on top of the lip and I do that 3 foot drop straight down and completely wipeout. Kept happening nonstop and it made me really nervous because I was a little scared of wiping out again.

The forecast was *good* around 3-4 feet

It sounds like you are not getting into the wave early enough. You need to catch the wave before the bottom drops out. Try moving up a little on your board and paddle for the wave like you really want to catch it. Positioning will also help. You want to be where the wave is steep enough to easily catch, but not so steep that you are getting pitched. If you are to worried about wiping out usually you will be to hesitant to catch the wave properly. You have to want it and then just go for it. Don't over think it as it may cause doubts and hesitation. Good Luck!

Your answer to that, because I saw your link is yes provided it relates to the thread and is not just blatant advertising.
Put your money where you mouth was and pay for an advertisement .

Yep, when the waves are steep (not often) I do what you describe a lot.

Head slightly further out and try to paddle harder.
