Feet close together when surfing

When I was surfing last week I realized that when I am standing my feet are only a few inches apart (6-7). I can ride the wave just fine. But I am wondering if this is effecting my turns or if its effecting my surfing in general?

Hello Surfer 22,
With your feet to close together you can lose your center of balance very easy. That will cause you to fall. You also will not be able to control your surfboard very well. I would work on getting more spacing on your pop up.

close together = Ballerina stance. Too far Apart = Crab/Poo stance.
Everything comes with experience. Don't fret it.
