advice on progression

Hi

I've been surfing on and off for like 4years or somenthing (only surf in summer vacation) and i cant seem to progress.
I have done several surf camps but the biggest wave i can ride is about 1m.
Maybe this is due to the fact that i surf almost always in Lacanau, france where the waves break very fast, so you almost immediately fall of your board

Do you guys have any tips or do you know movies that could help me out with this?

Thanks

Surfing a greater variety of waves and conditions will help. Try to get in the water more consistently. After a long break you'll spend time catching up to where you were before, and getting back that surfing fitness. I'm not sure movies will really help, but may give you some pointers. Keep watching what other surfers are doing at the breaks you surf, this will give you a good idea of what's possible on your break.

SP is right, you need to get into the water more consistently to build muscle memory if you want to progress.

110% techniques is good - both Vol 1 and 2. However, as mentioned, there is no substitute for being in the water. One tip from 110% is that they stick some tape on the end of the board and write one thing to remember during your session, e.g. look across the wave when popping up. I don't do that but I do make a mental note before the session of one thing I want to concentrate on - all small steps to beating Kelly :?

alright, im going to do something about it, could you name a couple of good destinations with decent gentle waves for December January close to Europe?
If there are destinations far away from europe that are noticably better than the ones in Europe in that period also let me know.

Not really, what you need is a slightly bigger board since you don't get to practice too often. Older, heavier guys (like me) use them to gain an advantage of younger guys. What size board do you ride and how much do you weigh?
